Advice For If Your Pain Brings Depression Vid

Today's animated video produced by the World Health Organisation is both cute and extremely helpful for people driven to depression by chronic pain. There's no direct reference to neuropathy but people living with neuropathy symptoms day in, day out can become depressed over a period of time, sometimes without realising what's happening to them. This video gives a gentle reminder that there's no shame in asking for help and ignoring it, or repressing the feelings of serious depression can lead to problems just as serious as the cause itself. Worth a watch for everybody.

Living With a Black Dog
World Health Organization Published on 4 Sep 2014

Millions of people around the world live with depression. “Living with a black dog” is a guide for partners, carers and sufferers of depression. It advises those living with and caring for people with depression on what to do, what not to do, and where to go for help.

“Living with a Black dog” is a follow-up to “I had a black dog, his name was depression”, which offers practical advice for coming to terms with and overcoming depression.

Both videos were produced by writer and illustrator Matthew Johnstone, in collaboration with WHO, and were based on books of the same name.
